Introduction

Sri Lanka is ranked as 73rd out of 138 countries for infrastructure development making Sri Lanka an attractive destination for private investment.

The Sri Lankan government has launched an ambitious program of physical infrastructure development to completely upgrade the sea, air, road, power and telecom backbone of the country. The main features of this program are Sea Port and Airport Development, Colombo Megapolis, Development of High Mobility Road Network, Power & Energy & Telecommunication Infrastructure Development

Sri Lanka is a global leader in the use of hybrid electric vehicles. The government is pushing to improve fuel efficiency even further, aiming to upgrade its emissions standards to Euro III for diesel vehicles and Euro IV for petrol vehicles by current year.
